Yellow Fever Current Research

In 2007, computer modelling of this disease opened up new doors for Yellow fever current research. Potential anti viral properties of thousands of molecules are tested on this model and it is one of the first projects to utilize the computer simulation. The World Community Grid, who set up this project, distributes the relevant program from their website to enable private use computers to tackle the simulations whenever the user is online and idle. It uses up this free or idle time on your personal computer to generate data about the molecules and their reaction to the Yellow fever virus. This information is then passed back to the World Community Grid to further their Yellow fever current research data.

If the user needs to use the computer the program automatically hibernates until it can resume its operations. There are various similar projects now running that range from health care research like AIDS, to examining signals from space for signs of life.

Ribavirin is also a highly tested subject matter for Yellow fever, current research adopts the idea that it can be used in the early treatment of Yellow fever most likely due to it’s effectiveness in treating liver related diseases.
